On August 11, remembering the Great East Japan Earthquake eight years and five months ago, Otsuchi Children’s Orchestra performed in Namiita Beach Festa.
The committee of this festival is led by Mr. Dai, who also coordinates our program in Otsuchi and the orchestra came back to perform here for a third time.
In the backstage, older children spontaneously took care of younger peers, who were excited
with all the stalls and booths, to stay safe and to concentrate on their performance. On stage, every child was successful in their performance of all five pieces including Canon and Hoshi Meguri No Uta, (Traveling around the stars), by Kenji Miyazawa, a renowned local writer of the early 20th century.
